What is Bounty Hunters RPG?
© Christopher Scott Munoz
Bounty Hunters RPG started out as a High-School Project to create a Pen and Paper Roll Playing Game. A tabletop game akin to Dungeons and Dragons, Shadowrun, and the many Horror Fantasy White Wolf games. Bounty Hunters Dice System has been refined over 10 years, creating a balance between fun, modest-realism, and simplicity.
What makes Bounty Hunters RPG different then other Roll Playing Games?
Bounty Hunters focus is on fun. Stargates bind planets and distant stars, making the universe highly accessible, without the need for pesky things like light-speed. Science Fiction powers the setting; limitless destinations, cultures, missions, and plots.
The dice rules have been pruned and modified over the years with two things in mind.
- Eliminate all arbitrary player side math
- Minimize rule book necessity during play
Origin of Bounty Hunters RPG
The Bounty Hunters Role-Playing Game was first created while I lived in Minnesota USA. My friends at the time where hooked on the pen and paper role-playing scene so that’s what we did for any kind of get together. We played Shadowrun and Vampire the Masquerade, of course there was D&D.
“Playing Pretend with Rules” became a new obsession, which lasted for years. A way to bring back those fond blissful childhood games of make-believe, while maintaining an adult and educated problem solving mind. Which by that of course I mean, Roll some dice see if you shot bad guy in his twisted alien face.
Bounty Hunters was a collaboration of rules and game ideas my friends and I had stuck together. Over the years the game has been remade and rewritten while keeping the setting. Over the years the setting has evolved, while the dice system continues to be experimental.
